As usual, I am having a hard time getting through to what you all call CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have been a customer at Bank of America or one of the previous companies before they became Bank of America I think since the 70s. I have mortgages, CDS and everything else over the years. You would think that a customer that has been around Bank of America for that long would get customer service. However, it becomes more and more difficult every time I have to deal with you all.
I have just about reached my limit. I always think, “Oh they are just having a bad day,” but I never get the feeling that they think that about me.
My wife and I have been using Bank of America’s credit cards for several years. However, when they decided to remove the CHAT feature to speak with customer service, they took a leap in the wrong direction. They went backwards about 2 decades.
Now I have to wait until I have a few minutes of silent time in order to use the phone to discuss any issues – even general questions.
To me, requiring customers to use the phone for ALL inquiries (with the exception of fraud) is extremely difficult, it’s very time consuming, and it’s not using technology available to them (as they did in the past). I don’t understand why a corporation would become so antiquated, knowing most every bank allows their customers to CHAT is desired.
PLEASE let me know if this functionality is on its way back in the near future.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Queen
I have been travelling overseas for a 3 month period. due to technical reason the card was not working and also the payments were not going through on a timely manner. I was charged a total of $100 in fees for no fault of mine. I have a 10+ year track record of paying monthly payments on time. I request a one time waiver of the fees in order to continue our long term relationship.
I have had a Bank of America account for the 4 years that I have been posted as a diplomat to the USA.
When I was preparing to go back home at the end of my stay in the US, I informed the Bank of America of my departure and that I needed to close the account. The consultant informed me that they could not close it as there were some debits still outstanding. This is despite the fact that I had closed all accounts linked to Bank of America account. Because I did not have a lot of time to sit and ague with them especially that I did not bring the documents to prove that all accounts were closed. I was advised by the consultant that I can nominate someone who can close the account in a few months after my departure. A year after my departure, the account was still not closed and the bank refused to allow my nominee to close it. On the 30 th January 2017, a year after my departure. I decided lo fly back to the USA after trying to call the number provided for customer service. This I thought would take just a day considering this is a first world. I then visited the branch on the 30th January and spoke to a consultant who informed me that the ‘two accounts’ were closed as the cards have expired. Ps. I was not aware that someone opened multiple accounts on my behalf. What was explained when the cards were issued was that the cheque account would link all transactions that I made that includes purchase from retail stores as well as online transactions. The cards which were send to me were renewals. Needless to say when I got to the bank in January 2017, the only card that was still valid was the debit card. So, I thought piece of cake. It should be easy to just click a button and the account will be closed and a statement will be printed to show that the account was closed. The nice lady this should not be a problem as they will send it to me through my email in 2-3 day. I said perfect as that will be the day I intended to return to my country. This was good until I informed the lady about the second reason for my visit to the bank. That a cheque was issued to me which has expired. The lady gave me a number for to call and ask them if it is still valid and what can be done. I did that and spoke to a gentleman on the other side who said that they should be able to transfer the money into to remaining account within 3-5 working says. I tried to plead with him and explained that I do not have enough time and that I need to go back home on 1st. Which would have been two long days sitting at the bank talking to the consultant or talking on the phone with someone who is trying to figure out how not to help me. This phone call gave me a headache about the decision I had to make, weather I should trust the bank and wait for the transfer to happen and wrap up the account once and for all or leave and not complete the job I came to the US for. I decided to give the bank a chance and spend more money to change my flight bookings to Saturday 4th. I waited at my email for that deposit to happen until I realized on Wednesday 1st I decided to call that number which promised me to do the deposit. Just to chech what the progress was. Of course, I was kept on hold for an hour. I then decided that I may as well walk into the same branch I have been communicating with. I did that and when I got there, the same consultant I had been talking to called the number and asked the what was the delay as it is unusual for such a small transaction would take so long. They told her that they could not complete the transaction as the cheque account was closed and they are processing the cheque and will send it lo the address in my account which will take 7-10 days. I lost it. Needless to say that I left without doing what I went all the way for nothing. As a diplomat, I intend to inform all my counterparts to use any other bank.
I am travelling all the time for my work, and you send me new debit card ( which I didn’t asked for ) to my old address. I will not be there any time soon. Please, cancell it urgently! I need to use my old card because I will need to pay my bills soon. Before my credit card was also cancelled even tho I set all the travel notices. This is geting extremelly annoying!!! I already asked do not send me any new cards without the agreement, because I am rarely home. Also its extremelly difficult for me to contact you all the time from overseas. Very upset.
hi there,
I am in Philippines right now , before I left from the US I notified to the bank of America already about it today I received the email about the unusual activities everything is fine .
We’re letting you know that we’ve detected some unusual activity on your
Bank of America debit card on 02/16/2017. For your protection,
we need you to review this activity immediately.
Please call us immediately at 1.866.706.0448 in the U.S.; international
customers, please call collect at 602.597.2395.
Customer service number is a joke – no client should have to wait over 40-60 minutes for a representative and there should also be a way to bypass the marketing nonsense promoted on the call while you have to frustratingly wait to get to a human – and the reason I even have to be on a call is because your branch management is sub par in their education and make repeatable mistakes – I think it’s time to go to CHASE – really poor customer service for a premier member – also music is most annoying as I hold for 40-60 minutes! Apologizing for the inconvenience recording over and over again is also annoying!
I wish to report a fraud scam, i transferred money from my Bank in the United Kingdom to a account in America. Details,Steven P Ferrill, Wakefield USA.Bank Address, 58 governors Rd. Wakefield, NH 0387.
BIC. Swift Code BOFAUS3N Intermediary BIC. BOFAGB22. Receiver BIC.BOFADEFX.ACC.No000457838253. This was sent from my Bank in Ireland PERMANENT TSB. This is just one amount of 6.500.00 sent. I will send you details of other amounts sent. I believe this money was then transferred to Ghana, to a fake Barrister named Kwami Agati.
I recently got a debit card and within less than 10 days have fraud? I have been talking to 3 different phone numbers, all saying something different, but each person said it would be handled, etc. I thought it was handled yesterday, then handled again this morning, and now again this afternoon? What is going on? I called Customer service and they could not verify the phone numbers called from, or the ones I called, said they didn’t know. When it comes to fraud, it would be nice to have everyone on the same page with info and phone numbers – I don’t know WHO to trust! Would never bank with them again.
This is for the Mortgage Department.
I have never in all my years of having a mortgage with different Mortgage companies and have gone thru several refinances have I ever had anyone not pay the home insurance from escrow until I refinanced with BoA.
Call center tried to tell me it was not included in the Escrow. I called the Escrow company – they confirmed it was. (Which I already knew because I had my paperwork sitting in front of me. I am sick of your automated loop call system trying to get through to get this fixed.
I am one ticked off Customer as my insurance is being canceled by 12:01am 1/4/17. I will shout it from the roof tops and where ever I can to let everyone know what type of shoddy service BoA gives to their mortgage customers and I will also put in a complaint to the BBB.
This is for the claims department. My account has been compromised and my account looks messed up. Fix the charges on my claim. Today. You have been a great help. Until this morning. You know which ones I didn’t do and what charges are related to this problem. Been with BOA since 1995. I want my account straighted out right away.
Laurel, you will have to contact the BofA claims department directly.
I just wanted to thank you guys for all of your hard work. People tend to take for granted the amazing services that Bank of America provides. These services allow me to easily access my money wherever I am and I am grateful for that. I have had nothing but friendly, helpful assistance during the rare times when I have needed to speak directly with customer support. I just spoke with a representative out of California named Kimberly and she was nice enough to expedite a replacement credit card to me overnight. I’m sure you guys are constantly dealing with angry and demanding customers, so I thought it would be a nice change for you to get some much deserved appreciation instead. Thanks for everything!
I am Bank of America customer (home banking) for many years. I have been on vacation travelling abroad and I had informed BofA about this travel and my use of BofA services. Since the last three weeks I am having problems frequently in accessing my BofA Online services (I go to the BofA Online website and nothing happens when I click to “Sign In”. I am very displeased with this poor and bad service and I am worried about paying my On-line bills on time. It is a shame to have such a big bank with such unreliable services. I suggest that BofA replace their old computer systems with new, reliable and efficient one. Give be an executive level job position and I assure I can enhance the overall quality, effectiveness and profits of this bank. Frank ahmad B.S. B.S M.B.A. D.SE
I visited the Phoenix 32nd and Bell location to pay monthly rent. There was only one teller so understandably there was a wait. However, during the 20 minutes I was in line, I was twice recommended to use a different location 15 minutes away with another wait probably 10 to 15 minutes. This was rude to try and send me away, and I was the only person in line asked to do this. I feel I was picked out for my age, everyone else was easily 40+. I would not bank with BOA based on this offending and unwelcoming customer service experience.
I am a Bank of America customer and travelling abroad. I wanted to send email to customer service. Despite wasting a lot of time, I couldn’t find it. Could you please give me an email address where I could submit my problem.

I have spent the last hour trying to reach a BofA customer service rep by phone for the last hour but was unable to resolve my erroneous billing problem. I was sent a safety deposit box bill after 10 years of having my name removed after my divorce in 2007. I was assured there would be no problem. After 10 years I received a bill in the mail for immediate payment With A 10 dollar late fee. As I searched for customer service number I came across a number who wanted to charge nearly $2 for $100 free certificate to stores – wall mart. Doesn’t pass the smell test! B of A you have no customer service! with a live person by phone! Marble remains unsolved! WOULD LIKE TO HAVE NUMBER FOR SOMEONE IN Charge. Thank you.
